All around the world, e-commerce surged in 2020, and we continue to see the acceleration of online shopping through 2021 due to the convenience and ease in which consumers can connect with the brands and products they love in an online environment.

Russia saw explosive growth in e-commerce, with the market reaching $35 billion in 2020 according to Data Insight’s report, reflecting an increase in growth of 44% over the prior year. If this isn’t enough to convince you, we also now know that over 10 million new online shoppers have come into the marketplace, representing a significant opportunity for businesses entering and growing into this lucrative region. As we reflect on this growth and look beyond into the next year, projections see this acceleration continuing in the post-pandemic period.

So what does this all mean for brands and businesses, especially those that are still learning how to reach the market in a relevant way?

On Thursday, July 15th, we will be joined by our partners at Yandex and our clients at The Hut Group for a conversation about how to ensure your brand can achieve success amid the ongoing opportunity for e-commerce growth in Russia. The Hut Group will discuss their experiences bringing their two flagship brands into the Russian market, and how they’ve been able to drive successful growth in the competitive and complex space of supplements, nutrition and beauty – all of which are categories that have been notoriously hard to penetrate by Western brands.

Finally, we’ll discuss our collaboration with both Yandex and The Hut Group, including how success is driven by a true local strategy and approach, which starts by engaging the right players in the market, understanding the interplay of digital channels, and getting the right insights about your customers.
